This site looks at ship models in the traditional 1/1200 scale ( 1" = 100' ) used by the Admirality for their recognition models.  It has photographs of models ships from the turn of the century to the present day, complete with essays on manufacturers.  While not a complete guide it is an excellent 'jumping off' point for those interested in these highly collectable ships and a fascinating record of not just ship design but of model making.
