The Conserver is a 1982 vintage bouy maintenance boat built on the Clyde for FP plc, 55 ft long, 20ft beam Gardner 250 hp 8 cyl engine. 1.5 tonne hiab, two 2 tonne winches. Operated by Forth ports until last year (2006) and kept in Grangemouth till March 2007.

Built 1937 as Saint Bedan at  Glasgow for J & A Gardiner & Co. Ltd., 452 grt.    Sold and renamed Meropi, 1964; renamed Charis, 1966; renamed Panagiotis, 1978.  Allegedly ran aground 1983 while smuggling cigarettes.

OCEAN MIST

Built 1919 for navy as Samuel Green, renamed Ocean Rover and  owned consectively by members of the Guiness family, the Duke of Leeds (as Aries) , Sir Harry Newton, Sir Alfred Goodson, James Napier of Kilpatrick, requisitioned WW2 with a variety of roles until 1949 when based at Cowes, Isle of Wight - various owners, 1954 renamed Ocean Mist, 1960 sailed on Caledonian Canal, until 1980 when brought to Leith.  Used as a restaurant until 2000,  Currently being refitted originally as office accommodation but more recently as a restaurant.  (Photograph before recent major changes to superstructure). { Page being reconstructed -email me for photograph}
